AbstractNine bread wheat genotypes were crossed under a partial diallel scheme, in which group 1 counted fiv e lines and group 2 four lines. The 20 F 1 ?s and their parents were evaluated in randomized complete block design with three replications at the Field Crop Institute-Agricultural Experimental Station of Setif (Algeria) during the 2011/2012 c ropping season. The results showed that the components associated with additive effects were more relevant than those associated with the dominance effects for these traits. Based on the K D /K R ratio, the dominant alleles are present in greater frequency in the first group of parents, while the opposite is true for the second group. Values of the gene proportion with positiv e and negative effects in the parents revealed an unequal distribution of dominant genes in the parents for almost all the tra its except for number of grain per spike in the second group which showed an equal distribution.
