AbstractEighty samples of raw vegetables sold in retailers'shop and supermaket around Bangkok during January to March 1994 were examined for salmonellae and Listeria spp. The results showed that salmonellae were detected in 7 samples (8.8%)and peppermint gave the most result in salmonellae detection (23.1%). The most common serovar of salmonellae which isolated from vegetables was S. Weltevreden. The detection of Listeria spp. was found in 3 samples (3.8%)and only L. innocua was found in this study.
